Elio is a character originally only featured in the IALR special episodes. He's a Pokémon trainer from the Alola Region, who decided to move to Echo Creek after retiring as the Alola champion.
Personality[]
Elio is a rather relaxed and optimistic person. He likes to stay happy, even when things are bleak. Though sometimes, he'll show some extreme worry or shock in life-threatening moments.
Official Description[]
Elio is the former champion of the Alola region, so as you'd expect, his Pokémon are quite powerful! He has some great strategics skills, making him nearly unbeatable in Pokémon battles!
History[]
When he was eleven years old, he and his mother moved from Kanto to Alola. From there, he was able to visit Professor Kukui to choose a starter. It's unknown which one he chose, but he got the other two at a later point. He continued his adventure through Alola, and eventually became the first ever Alola champion. Five years later, he decided he's finished with his role as champion, and retired. He decided to move to Echo Creek. From there, he met the gang at an unknown date.
At an unknown point in time, Elio left the Locked Room Gang and went to Kanto, starting his journey to conquer the Pokémon league in every region.

Relationships[]
- Red: Red is Elio's idol, and he inspired him to get into Pokémon battling. When he got to meet and battle him on Poni Island, he felt greatly honored.
- Moon: The two rarely meet, but Elio wants to be friends with her.
Trivia[]
- He was initially considered as "Neutral", as Moon Snail felt he needed a neutral character. But due to his overall heroic behavior, and the introduction of his main neutral character Shadow Assassin, Elio was made a hero.
- He is currently Moon Snail's only main character in the specials. Unless you count The Portal Problem as a special, in which case, Rustbolt shares the title.
- Elio is Moon Snail's favorite playable character in the Pokémon series, but only in Sun and Moon. He uses his design from Pokèmon Sun and Moon because MS dislikes his design in Pokèmon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
